Privacy Policy

RoofSection Studio (“RoofSection Studio,” “we,” “us”) is a web app at roofsectionstudio.com for building roof assemblies in 3D. It is independently operated by an individual. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

In short: you can use RoofSection Studio without an account. If you create one, we store your name, email address, optional phone number, and the roof sections you save so you can open them again. If you subscribe to Pro, Stripe handles your payment; we never see your card number. We don't sell your information, show ads, or use tracking analytics.

Information we collect

If you use the app without an account, the section you're working on and your display preferences (such as light or dark mode) are stored only in your own browser. We don't receive them.

If you create an account, we collect:

Account information: your first and last name, your email address, and, if you use email sign-in, a password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider; we never see it).
Phone number (optional): if you choose to add one to your profile. You can remove it at any time from your profile.
Google sign-in information: if you choose “Continue with Google,” Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us. We use your name to fill in your profile. We don't receive your Google password, phone number, or access to your other Google data.
Saved sections: the name you give each roof section, the layers and options it contains, and when it was created and last updated.
Subscription information: if you subscribe to Pro, our payment processor Stripe collects your payment card and billing details directly. We never see or store your full card number. We receive and store your Stripe customer ID, your plan, your subscription status, and your trial and renewal dates.

Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting and service providers automatically process technical data needed to deliver and secure the site, such as your IP address, browser type, and request logs.

How we use information

To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
To save your roof sections and show them to you on any device.
To manage your Pro subscription, process payments, and provide Pro features.
To send account emails you request, such as email confirmation and password reset.
To keep the service running, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
To respond when you contact us.

We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Cookies and local storage

We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. The app uses your browser's local storage to remember your current section, your preferences, and, if you sign in, your session so you stay signed in. You can clear this at any time through your browser settings.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers who process data on our behalf, only to run the service:

Supabase: account sign-in and the database that stores saved sections.
Cloudflare: website hosting, security, and email forwarding for our support address.
Stripe: subscription checkout, payments, invoices, and the page where you manage your subscription (only if you subscribe to Pro).
Google: “Continue with Google” sign-in (only if you choose it) and web fonts used by the site.

Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.

How long we keep information

We keep your account and saved sections until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Deleting a saved section in the app removes it from our database. Service providers may keep backups or logs for a limited time before they are overwritten. Payment and invoice records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require, even after you close your account.

Your choices and rights

Use without an account: accounts are optional.
Update your name or phone number at any time from “Profile” in the account menu.
Delete saved sections at any time from “My saved sections.”
Access, correct, export, or delete your data, including your whole account, by emailing support@roofsectionstudio.com from the address on your account.

Depending on where you live (for example, in the EU, UK, or California), you may have additional rights under local law. Contact us and we'll help you exercise them.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls that let each account read only its own saved sections, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

RoofSection Studio is intended for professionals and adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

International users

Our service providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify signed-in users. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
