Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of RoofSection Studio at roofsectionstudio.com (the “Service”), which is independently operated by an individual (“we,” “us”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

RoofSection Studio lets you assemble roof sections from layers such as decks, insulation, coverboards, and membranes, view them in 3D, and see general product and manufacturer information. You can use it without an account. A free account lets you save a limited number of sections and export some file types. A paid Pro subscription adds more features, as described on the upgrade screen in the app.

2. Not professional advice

Before relying on any assembly, verify product data, availability, and system approvals (such as FM, UL, and local building codes) with the manufacturers and a qualified design professional. You are solely responsible for any design, specification, purchasing, or construction decisions you make.

3. Manufacturers and trademarks

Manufacturer and product names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify their products. Listing a manufacturer doesn't mean it endorses, sponsors, or is affiliated with RoofSection Studio, and we don't endorse any particular product. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience; we aren't responsible for their content.

4. Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding agreement where you live, to create an account.
• Provide accurate information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You're responsible for activity under your account.
• Tell us promptly at support@roofsectionstudio.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

5. Pro subscriptions and billing

• Price. Pro costs US $20 per month, plus any applicable taxes, unless a different price is shown when you subscribe. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
• Free trial. First-time subscribers get a 7-day free trial. A payment card is required to start it. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged when it ends and every month after. The trial end date is shown in the account menu.
• Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically each month, and your card is charged at the start of each billing period, until you cancel.
• Cancel anytime. Choose “Manage subscription” in the account menu, or email us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Pro until then. Payments are non-refundable, including for partly used periods, except where the law requires otherwise.
• Price changes. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change takes effect. It applies from your next renewal after the notice period, and you can cancel before then.
• Failed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it. If it still can't be collected, your account moves to the Free plan.
• Moving to Free. If your subscription ends, your saved sections are kept. If you have more than the Free plan allows, you can still open, update, and delete them, but you can't add new ones until you're under the limit. Pro-only features and exports stop working.

6. Your content

You own the roof sections and names you save (“your content”). You give us permission to store, process, and display your content only as needed to provide the Service to you. You can delete saved sections at any time.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break the law or infringe anyone's rights while using the Service;
• try to access other users' accounts or data, or probe, disrupt, or overload the Service;
• scrape or copy the Service or its catalog in bulk, or use automated means to access it except as we permit;
• reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it; or
• use the Service to send spam or malicious content.

8. Changes and availability

We may add, change, or remove features and catalog content at any time. We aim to keep the Service available but don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that saved data will never be lost. Keep your own records of anything important.

9. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these terms or if we stop offering the Service. Where reasonable, we'll give notice so you can retrieve your content.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or business, arising from your use of the Service or reliance on its content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If changes are material, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify signed-in users. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to these terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Nevada, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. This doesn't take away any consumer protections you have under the laws of the place where you live.
